Laguna Elementary and Middle Schools' Social/Emotional Curriculum
Laguna Elementary and Middle Schools use the "Second Step" curriculum to help teach our students social/emotional skills. Developed by the Committee for Children, this curriculum has been shown to significantly improve social and emotional skills, attitudes, and behavior, as well as academic performance.
These social and emotional learning concepts provide an extra dimension to our students' education, focusing on techniques to help students:
- Gain confidence
- Set goals
- Make better decisions
- Communicate well
- Collaborate with others in work and play
- Navigate the world more effectively
