The Facilities Management program provides
comprehensive custodial and maintenance services to all LDoE
facilities, which includes two school campuses, two Head Start
campuses, and all administrative and related buildings. Facilities
Management provides cross-training of personnel, work experience for
students and emergency response services, including major community
crises.
Operation and Maintenance (O&M) is divided into three categories:
Operations
Is the day-to-day services that include custodial services,
fire protection (response and inspection), daily monitoring of utility
systems and services and refuse collection. Operation and
maintenance is performed by Facilities personnel who are either
certified or licensed in one or more of the trade field.
Preventive Scheduled Maintenance
Is the required routine maintenance that ensures that the
facilities are maintained and in working condition. Inspections of all
facility components are conducted routinely to assure proper
operation and condition, and to identify more extensive replacement
or repair needs.
Unscheduled Maintenance
Is the correction of unforeseen problems or
deficiencies that must take priority over routine maintenance and
must be corrected as soon as possible.
